During my one-week internship at NCC Group, I gained valuable insight into the cybersecurity industry and its real-world applications. I learned about the importance and impact of cybersecurity controls in protecting organisations from digital threats and explored the critical role of Security Operations Centres (SOCs) in monitoring and responding to incidents.
I also developed practical skills in OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) by conducting targeted online searches using Google, gaining an understanding of how publicly available information can be used to identify security risks. This experience deepened my interest in ethical hacking, network security, and real-world cyber defence strategies.
Ethical Hacking & Penetration Testing I used Kali Linux in a virtual lab to practice ethical hacking techniques, including network scanning with Nmap, reconnaissance, and safe exploitation, building skills in vulnerability analysis and secure environment setup.
M5 Shark Security Tool explorationI used the M5Shark to ethically test and analyze RFID, NFC, and wireless systems, developing skills in security testing for IoT devices and access control systems.
